The easiest way to clean an ink cartridge is to place the cartridge into a small cup filled with hot water, while making sure that the chip of the cartridge does not touch the water. The cartridge needs to be kept in the water for around 20 minutes or so, until ink runs freely from it. It will be obvious when this happens, as the water will be filled with dried up ink. This does not work for all cartridges though, and a more serious cleaning procedure needs to be tried, at a professional company.
However, replacing the cartridge with a spare one is always easier, until the problem is solved. Going online and ordering a cartridge is easier that going to the store for milk. The cartridge will be delivered sealed at your door step, and all you have to do is place it in a drawer for safe keeping. Try not to place it in places where sun rays can get to it, because the ink can quickly dry, especially if you have unsealed it to check it out. There are numerous online stores that sell ink cartridges so finding one that delivers in your area should not be a problem. Just plan ahead a little and try to think if there are any situations in the near future that may require the use of the printer. Even if there are not, ordering a spare cartridge cannot hurt, and it may come in handy in emergencies.
Try to purchase your cartridge from a store that deals with printer ink, as such a store should have a large variety of cartridges to choose from, including original and compatible ones. So if you are looking for cheap lexmark ink cartridges you can be sure that they have them, or if you are looking for original hp ink cartridges you can find those there as well. Do not let yourself be surprised by anything and simply order ahead of time to prevent any issues from spoiling your day. Going in the middle of the night to find a print center for that important school project that is due in the morning is something that can be avoided by simply ordering ahead of time.
